Frequently asked questions

Is it legal to feed street animals in Delhi?

Yes — but feeding responsibly in designated spots reduces conflict. We coordinate with RWAs and local authorities where possible.

What should I feed?

Dogs: boiled rice, plain cooked meat or good quality commercial dog food. Cows: clean green fodder, avoid stale/spicy leftovers. Never feed mouldy food or foods harmful to animals (chocolate, alcohol, excessive spices).

Can ₹50 really feed a dog?

Yes — on average a single nutritious meal for a street dog costs about ₹50 in our program (bulk buys and local routes make this efficient).

How do you prioritise rescues?

We triage: life-threatening cases first (accidents, severe bleeding, shock), then urgent medical cases, then non-urgent follow-ups.

Do you sterilise the animals you feed?

Yes — feeding points help us identify and monitor animals for ABC/CNVR drives. We’ve sterilised 62 animals this year.

Can I volunteer casually?

Yes — but feeding responsibly in designated spots reduces conflict. We coordinate with RWAs and local authorities where possible.
